Holiday 2021

This gift was inspired by a recent trip to the Chicago Cultural Center to celebrate "Successful Failures," an exhibit honoring 30 years of the "Lumpen" collective of makers and doers here in Chicago.
When I arrived in Chicago in my early 20s, I was inspired by all of those makers and doers, and felt lucky to be included among them as a writer straddling the underground creative scene and the mainstream publishing world. I am so in awe of the fact that those makers and doers are now all grown up and changing the world with their persistent making and doing.

Your gift was purchased at the Chicago Cultural Center's Buddy shop, which exists to celebrate and support local makers and doers by showcasing their wares. (Not to mention, it's one of the coolest museum shops in the city!)
I love being able to support creative work in Chicago by sharing it with you.

Happy holidays!
